About me

"If I had to describe myself, I would say that I am like a filter that captures the interior essence of everything that I see and feel".

I exist in the universe of art as a filter that absorbs the essence of my experience, recreating and transforming all that I take in from the sensory world around me. My artwork captures scenes from my thoughts and from my intrinsic nature. Observing life and events provides a colorful backdrop of inspirational concepts that triggers my imagination. The beauty of nature with all of its colors, textures, and shapes inspires a new way of seeing and creating, art that blends together my internal passions, images, and thoughts. It’s my way of making contact with my own thoughts and perceptions, emerging with a visual experience to share with others.

Complex Systems Art Performance

author: Volkhard Stürzbecher

Description

The tasks of the artist in between this self-organizing process is firstly in the preparation of the used objects which are mostly liquids. The objects are put into physical relation in certain amounts and in certain configurations. This is equivalent to the initial state of the self-organizing.

Proceeding from this initial state develops the process of creating a form, while the artist can influence the self-organization by regulations, like for example adding new objects or physical reconfigurations of existing objects.

Ermíno Souza - Artista Plástico

http://www.erminio-souza-arte.com.br/v3/m_principal.asp

Paisagens Naturais by Carolina Moura

Oil and acrilic on canvas.

Sobreposições by Carolina Moura

http://depthcore.com/
About Us

depthCORE is an international art collective focused on modern and abstract art, incorporating design, photography, animation and audio. Established by Justin Maller and Kevin Stacey in 2002, our membership is comprised of artists of all ages from all locations around the world and all walks of life, united by their love for art, and their passion for innovation.

The group was established to provide a showcase for the best in modern craftsmanship, with the primary goals of breaking design conventions and pushing the boundaries of artwork created or enhanced digitally. In a medium inundated with repetition we aim to bring something unique and innovative with every release we put forth, as we illustrate, orchestrate and visually represent the thoughts, hopes and dreams of all corners of the globe.
Chapters

Every three to four months, the depthCORE.com Collective puts forth a collection of digital media and modern artwork contributed by our members in what are colloquially referred to as "Chapters" (formerly "packs"). Chapters contain anywhere from 50 to 150 selected works from various mediums, including digital art, photography, music, animations, and collaborative works. The releases are themed, and require each member to contribute their own interpretation of a central idea or concept. The themes are only as binding as the members imagination allows them to be, and artists are free to project any construction of the subject they desire. Accompanying each Chapter is featured content, consisting of a detailed interview with a featured member and several spotlighted artworks. These selections are made by the staff, and aim to promote artists and artworks of outstanding merit and theme relevance. They also give the public an insight into the true nature of the release, and give recognition to a member who has made an exceptional contribution to the group through their artwork and participation.
Our Artists

Many of the original artists from the group's inception still release with us today, and we are constantly recruiting artists from around the community, inviting them to join our collective and help to keep our releases vibrant and fresh. Whilst we do accept applications, the majority of our artists gain membership via private invitation as opposed to their own request.

SidesShow

The sideshow was once a highly popular form of fairground entertainment. Dancing girls, snake charmers and the "world's largest rat" were all part of the fun. But as mechanised rides became widespread in the 1960s, the shows faded away.

Here, Jon Marshall of Sideshow Illusions and Prof Vanessa Toulmin, Director of the National Fairground Archive at The University of Sheffield reminisce about the sideshow's heyday. They were speaking at the Wellcome Collection, run by Britain's medical charity the Wellcome Trust, which has been explored the science behind some of these illusions of yesteryear.

"Biombo" by Carolina Moura

James Rosenquist American Artist Paintings Prints

http://www.jimrosenquist-artist.com/
From 1957 to 1960, he earned his living as a billboard painter. This was perfect training, as it turned out, for an artist about to explode onto the pop art scene. Rosenquist deftly applied sign-painting techniques to the large-scale paintings he began creating in 1960. Like other pop artists, Rosenquist adapted the visual language of advertising and pop culture (often funny, vulgar, and outrageous) to the context of fine art. Rosenquist achieved international acclaim in 1965 with the room-scale painting F-111.
Rosenquist has stated the following about his involvement in the Pop Art movement: "They(art critics) called me a Pop artist because I used recognizable imagery. The critics like to group people together. I didn't meet Andy Warhol until 1964. I did not really know Andy or Roy Lichtenstein that well. We all emerged separately."

About :: Foundation for Contemporary Arts

http://www.foundationforcontemporaryarts.org/about.html
Mission

The Foundation for Contemporary Arts was started in 1963 by visual artists in a spirit of community, hoping to assist and encourage innovation, experimentation and potential in the arts.

Since then, exhibitions and sales of works donated by more than 600 visual artists have made possible our program of non-restrictive grants to individuals working in dance, music/sound, performance art/theater, poetry and the visual arts. Grants are also given to presenting organizations, and we maintain a modest fund to help artists with unexpected emergencies.

The FCA continues to support its grant programs through the sale of artists' works and through direct financial contributions. In fact, the concept of a benefit exhibition originated with founders Jasper Johns, John Cage and others who were involved in those early days.

Gustav Klimt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gustav_Klimt
Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862 – February 6, 1918) was an Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau (Vienna Secession) movement. His major works include paintings, murals, sketches, and other art objects, many of which are on display in the Vienna Secession gallery. Klimt's primary subject was the female body,[1] and his works are marked by a frank eroticism--nowhere is this more apparent than in his numerous drawings in pencil (see Mulher sentada, below).
